When it comes to the refurbishment of a swimming pool cover it is important to look at new products on the market since you last purchased your pool cover and what savings can be made in reducing the heating costs for your pool by selecting the correct cover slat. We recently replaced a pool cover that had been badly maintained and the motor drive had been flooded when the pool top up failed and used the old style cover slats filled with air and offered poor insulation.
The pool was located in the basement of a house in Mayfair London and it was decided to fit a Covrex cover with a new cover drive fitted inside the roller and supported by new brackets inside the existing cover pit.
These new rollers with built in motors use a counter that ensures the cover opens and closes the correct distance every time you operate the cover. With a slow start feature that ensures the cover clears the cover fit before it increases the covers speed. The cover rollers are supplied from the factory with the necessary wiring installed to make installation easier for the pool engineers.
Covrex® is a unique and innovative product, and is no ordinary pool cover, it also offers huge advantages over traditional PVC slatted covers in terms of insulation properties; the slats have an incredible U-value of only 0.12
All Covrex® slats are foam filled according to the ISO 1183 standard, provide additional rigidity, and can easily be cut on site to provide a perfect finish for any shape, without the need for end caps. Covrex® has come a long way from the outdated method of cutting in stepped curves; of course this also means that you will never need to worry about end caps breaking or slats leaking and sinking.
The profile structures are made from expanded PVC-foam, coextruded with polyurethane. The profile exterior is high density PVC, which gives a perfectly smooth surface to prevent any algae formation either above or below the water level.
Covrex® slats comply with the French safety standard NF P90-308 Version 2006, probably the strictest standard in the market. They provide excellent resistance to weather and UV which makes them suitable for use all year round and come with an amazing standard 5 year warranty.
Available in four colours Cream/White, Sand, Silex Grey, and Blue, the slats are perfect for level deck pools, and all this for around the same price as a traditional PVC slatted cover!
